Coach Biographies:
Head Coach: Isabelle McGuiness Izzy competed as a 3-sport athlete at Harper College, playing soccer, basketball, and softball. In Izzy’s 2 years on Harper Softball, she threw 210.2 innings, and totaled 11 wins, while adding a No-Hitter in April of 2017. Izzy accumulated 51 RBIs, 76 hits,15 doubles, and 5 triples in 198 at bats. She won All-Conference and All-Region honors at Harper College. Izzy has been coaching Thunder Fastpitch 16u since 2021 and is currently the Assistant softball coach for Harper College. |

Assistant Coach: Jackie Orel Jackie is in her fifth year playing college softball as a starting catcher/outfielder at Elmhurst University. She is working to obtain her teaching license for physical education K-12 and is majoring in physical education with a minor in health education. She has been coaching for four years prior to starting with the Thunder, serving as the Head Coach of 16u and 18u Illinois Patriots and Assistant Coach of Northern Ice 16u. She has also been giving catching lessons for the past two years. |

Assistant Coach: Sydney Heinrich Sydney graduated from Wheaton College this past May where she played outfield for 3 years. Before that, she played at Harper College where she primarily played first and caught. She is a 2017 graduate of Fremd High School. She is also an Assistant Coach at Wheaton College and is very excited to be a part of Arlington Heights Thunder and for this season! |

Hitting Coach: Scott Plaza Scott Plaza is the assistant softball coach and head women’s bowling coach at Dominican University. Plaza was previously at Harper College where he served as the head softball coach for three seasons. During his tenure as the Hawks’ head softball coach, Plaza was responsible for recruiting quality student-athletes, coaching a pair of all-conference and four all-region student-athletes while setting the program record for wins in 2017. |

Thunder Player Development: Kellie Fox Fox is a two-time All-American in two years of eligibility after transferring to Arizona and 2014 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, member of the U.S. National Team (2014, 2015), and led Arizona in batting average as a senior (.400). |
